Ticket to Freedom…
There are two days that most pilots will never forget: The day of their first solo (flying alone with no instructor on board), and the day they earn their Private Pilot Certificate. Having a Private Pilot Certificate literally opens up a whole new world of possibilities, and opportunities. When compared to travel by car, a Private Pilot Certificate can easily expand your daily ‘travel horizon’ by at least a factor of four. There are a couple of reasons for this: 1) Even a slow airplane can travel twice as fast as a car, typically at least 135 MPH. 2) Airplanes fly in straight lines with no stop signs, red lights or traffic jams to slow them down. Flying by airliner can have it’s advantages when traveling very long distances. But, if your trip is less than about 700 miles or so, it can frequently be faster (door to door) to fly yourself. Consider these other advantages: 1) You won’t waste ANY time standing in line to go through ‘security’. No more TSA! 2) YOU decide when you want to depart. You don’t have to worry about ridiculous airline ‘change fees’ if you decide to push your departure back a few hours. Depart whenever you darn well feel like it… For any course of instruction, I strongly recommend a structured curriculum with clear, flight by flight lesson plans. Having a complete course syllabus allows you to always know exactly where you stand during your training. You always know what to expect on your next flight, and the flight after that... Accordingly, I recommend a complete training course/curriculum like the ones offered by Sporty’s or King School’s. Both of these courses come with ALL of the ground school information you’ll need, clearly presented through interactive videos and graphics. Sporty’s course comes in either a DVD or online format. The King School’s course comes only in an online version. Both of these courses are excellent, and come with detailed, flight by flight lesson plans that we will use for your training. You can check out their courses here: Sporty's Private Pilot Course King School's Private Pilot Course (Course created in conjunction with Cessna) If you have another curriculum in mind, just let me know and I will look it over to ensure it will meet your needs.
