Introductory Flight and Bay Tour
If you’re one of those people that’s always wondered what it might be like to learn to fly, but just never quite got around to it…. Then an ‘Introductory Flight & Bay Tour’ might be just the thing for you. The idea behind this flight is that it gives you some insight into the two most important considerations in learning to fly: 1) How and 2) Why.

Let’s start with #1) How? The introductory flight will give you a taste of the mechanics of flying, and what exactly a pilot does to make it all happen in a safe and enjoyable fashion. I call this the “push this, pull that” aspect of learning to fly.

Equally important is factor #2) Why? The ‘Bay Tour’ portion of the flight will give you a brief glimpse of the amazing opportunities that seem to magically appear once you’ve earned a Pilot’s Certificate. During the flight we’ll fly over Alcatraz Island, downtown San Francisco, Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge. Be sure and bring along your camera, and you'll be able to take some of the most amazing pictures you've ever shot.

If someone asked you why you have a car, you wouldn’t say “because it can do turns to the left and right, and it has lot’s of fancy electronic gizmos in it”. You’d tell them you drive because it allows you to go places and do things. That’s exactly what a Pilot Certificate does for you. It allows you to go to amazing places and do fun things. Going to South Lake Tahoe for the weekend? Why not take a two and a half hour flight by small plane that allows you to enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, while you look down on the snarled highway traffic below and wonder why the heck you didn’t learn to fly sooner. How about Mendocino for a quick getaway? Take a 4 hour twisty, windy drive up Highway 1 that will most likely leave at least one passenger a bit carsick, or enjoy a one hour flight along the Pacific coast to Little River airport. Going down to L.A.? Fly it once and you’ll never want to drive it again. These are just three of the countless examples of how flying can broaden one’s horizons more than you can even imagine.

On the ‘Introductory Flight & Bay Tour’, YOU decide how long we fly. Thirty minutes or two hours are both fine by me. YOU decide how much you physically fly the plane. If you just want to try a turn or two, that’s fine. If you want to do some climbs, descents, turns etc, that’s fine too. And of course you are welcome to bring along a significant other on this discovery flight. It can be quite important for your loved ones to understand what you are doing and why when you take on flight training. Please limit the passenger list to one adult though (18 or older).

This introductory flight is about awareness. It’s about exposing you to the fun and utility of knowing how to fly. Whether you’re considering learning to fly for business or pleasure, this flight is here to give you a glimpse of what can be…
